How to calculate the word count in an HTML file

Flex Input is the easiest way to get your content from where it is to where you need it to be. If you need to quickly count the number of words in an HTML file (for example, to be able to quickly estimate the reading time), the Flex Input Word Counter makes that really easy. Here's how:
  1. Visit the Flex Input Word counter at https://www.flexinput.com/tools/wordcount. Click the file upload button to select the HTML file.
Select an Image
2. Pick the HTML file you'd like to count, then click the Open button.
Select an Image
3. The text in the HTML file will be extracted and counted.

A couple of things to note:
  • Flex Input will try and extract all the text content: we ignore tags, scripts, comments and styles.
  • If there is text on the page that is hidden using CSS, we'll count it.
Thanks for using Flex Input!
